The Fluval FX2 High Performance Canister Filterdelivers unparalleled filtration for freshwater and marine aquariums up to 175 gallons. Engineered to maintain the cleanest and clearest water, this super-capacity canister filter is packed with innovative features designed to improve performance and simplify operation. The Fluval FX2 comes equipped with a powerful 450 gph pump that operates at a very modest 27 watts of electricity.Incoming water passes through a telescopic strainer to prevent clogging, and filtered water is returned to the aquarium via a dual, multi-directional output nozzle. To ensure optimal performance, the FX2 features patented Smart Pump Technology (SPT). This self-regulating system constantly monitors the pump, measuring impeller force and speed to maintain powerful output, super-quiet operation, and energy-efficiency. The included filter media is housed in several stackable baskets that can be fully customized to suit the needs of your aquarium. The baskets are engineered to eliminate bypass, and each is lined with a foam insert for effective mechanical pre-filtering. Instant-release t-handles allow easy lifting and separation of the media baskets for easy maintenance and media changes. The included Click-Fit AquaStop valves allow quick setup and leak-free maintenance. A self-starting feature activates the FX2 without the need for priming, and purges unwanted air that may have entered the filter during setup. Every 12 hours, the pump shuts down automatically and the air evacuation process is repeated to ensure uncompromising performance.
