Fluval Bio-Stratum is 100% natural, mineral-rich volcanic soil from Mount Aso in Japan, that has been infused with beneficial nitrifying bacteria to immediately jump start the nitrogen cycle and create the optimal conditions for aquatic plants to thrive. The 1 millimeter, non-compacting powdered granules allows even the finest and most delicate roots to be quickly planted and spread throughout the substrate with ease. The soil itself is incredibly porous, and absorbs a considerable amount of nutrients, minerals and trace elements that contribute to explosive growth and long-lasting health.

The substrate naturally softens the water and is ideal for tanks housing tropical fish, shrimp and wide variety of aquatic plants. The soil has been heat treated and cured to ensure no parasites, nor will it stain or discolour the water. Comes in a 8 kg container.
