The Zoo Med PowerSun H.I.D Combo includes both the PowerSun H.I.D Metal Halide UVB Lamp Fixture and the PowerSun H.I.D Metal Halide UVB Lamp in one package. This Lamp produces a 6500K color temperature and 95 CRI for remarkable lighting color which is then combined with UVB, UVA and heat. This offers the best possible lighting and heat source to benefit your reptiles basking and health needs. You can rest assured that this lamp creates a true flood-lamp effect which eliminates dangerous UV “hot-spots” unlike other metal halide reptile lamps. Carefully follow instructions for the distance in which you should keep your lamp for basking. If you place your reptile too close to the bulb, this can be harmful. 0 to 12 inches away from the basking spot is the danger zone, you do not want your reptile exposed to this much heat or light. At this distance your reptile is exposed to >7.0 *UV Index. To gain midday full sunlight, place your basking area 12 to 18 or more inches away from your basking area, where your reptile will be exposed to 2.6 to 3.5 or more *UV Index. To gain mostly full sunlight, place your basking area 18 to 28 inches away from your basking area, where your reptile will be exposed to 1.0 to 2.6 *UV Index. For mostly partial sunlight or to achieve shade, keeping your basking area 28 to 38 inches away will offer the minimum light exposure for the basking area, ranging from a 0.4 to 1.0 *UV Index. It is very important to find out which distance your reptile is suited for prior to choosing a light distance.
